Welcome to Saint Joseph, Saints Simon and Jude, and Saints Mary and Joseph!
I am Fr. Michael B. Haag, pastor of St. Joseph in Benld as well as Saints Simon and Jude in Gillespie and Saints Mary and Joseph in Carlinville. We are all one pastoral unit. Because of this, some of the services and ministries are combined among the parishes as well as each parish having its own unique services and ministries.
SAINT JOSEPH, BENLD
St. Joseph is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. We are a small parish. Because of this, we are always looking for people to volunteer as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, as well as Greeters/Ushers. We also have an Altar and Rosary Society which supports the parish. Currently, we have a Knights of Columbus council which meets at Gillespie.
Our parish’s PSR (Parish School of Religion) program is combined with Saints Simon and Jude in Gillespie. It meets on Sundays during the school year at 9:15am. Jennifer Frericks is the Director of Religious Education for all three parishes. She may be directly contacted at the Carlinville Office.
The opportunity to explore new ministries in our parish is wide open. If you have an idea for ministry, please let me know and let’s try it.
SAINTS SIMON AND JUDE, GILLESPIE
Saints Simon and Jude has been around for over 90 years. We too are a smaller parish. We too are looking for people to volunteer as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, as well as Greeters/Ushers. We have an Altar and Rosary Society which supports the parish as well as a Knights of Columbus council.
The opportunity to explore new ministries in our parish is wide open. If you have an idea for ministry, please let me know and let’s try it.
SAINTS MARY AND JOSEPH, CARLINVILLE
Saints Mary and Joseph is a young parish, only 20 years old. It is the combination of the merging of two parishes, Saint Mary and Saint Joseph. It is a larger parish and has various ministries. Some of the ministries and organizations you may be interested in joining are:
Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, and Greeters/Ushers
Saints Mary and Joseph Women’s Group
Knights of Columbus and Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary
St Vincent DePaul society
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Our parish’s PSR (Parish School of Religion) program meets on Wednesdays at 3:30 for the younger children, 5pm for the middle school children, and 7pm for the high school children. Jennifer Frericks is the Director of Religious Education for all three parishes. She may be directly contacted at the Carlinville Office.
The opportunity to explore new ministries in our parish is wide open. If you have an idea for ministry, please let me know and let’s try it.
Thank you for choosing to commit to our parish by registering and filling out a parish census form. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you better.
God bless you,
Fr. Michael B. Haag
