Dear Carlinville PSR parent,
After listening to feedback and the parent council, we are moving the scheduled PSR time for next year and reducing the time to 1 hour. We are considering two options for PSR time for PSR next year: 5:30-6:30 or 6:00-7:00. We want your input.
The advantage of 5:30 – 6:30 is that the children will be home earlier. Also, if the child has not eaten prior to PSR, it is still within a realistic time for them to eat. The disadvantage is that some parents who work one hour away, such as Springfield, will not have the opportunity to be a part of PSR.
The advantage of 6:00 – 7:00 is that parents who work one hour away will have the opportunity to be a part of PSR. If there are few or no parents who would like to assist in PSR, then it would make more sense to have PSR at 5:30. This will also allow more of an opportunity to eat prior to PSR. The disadvantage is making it later to get home and get the children to bed.
Also, in planning for next year, we would like to know your interest in being a catechist or a volunteer to be a part of our PSR program. This is not a commitment at this point. I would like to know who is interested. More information will be forthcoming about our requirements and expectations of catechists and volunteers for our PSR program as well as the support you will receive from us in this ministry.
Finally, we would love to have more people helping with the Children’s Liturgy of the Word during Sunday Mass. Please volunteer.
Below is a link to a Google survey so that you can make your preference known. Please respond by Sunday, April 29 at noon. This letter and survey will also be on our home page at www.macoupincatholicchurch.com
